Mercer Medicine's Psychological Assessment Center provides consultation and evaluation of patients experiencing problems of a cognitive, emotional or behavioral nature. Under the direction of R. Alan Williams, PhD, the Center's experienced staff are faculty with the Mercer School of Medicine and provide services to outpatients, hospitalized psychiatric patients, forensic clients, children in various group homes, vocational rehabilitation, and schools, as well as police, fire and other public safety agencies in the Central Georgia region.

The Psychological Assessment Center offers assistance with diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. Our staff uses personal interviews and history, collateral sources, relevant records available and formal psychometric tests to assess and guide patients in their treatment.

Patient referrals to the Psychological Assessment Center are accepted via a professional health care provider or agency, such as a pediatrician, children's home, psychiatrist, family physician, court, school and so on.
