Elizabeth Bizzell, LMFT
Marriage and Family Therapy
Elizabeth Bizzell, LMFT, is a compassionate and experienced therapist dedicated to helping individuals, couples and families find healing, balance and connection. She proudly serves the Middle Georgia community through Mercer Medicine.
Before joining Mercer Medicine, Elizabeth worked in residential, home-based, and outpatient settings, serving in roles as both therapist and Clinical Director. She provides therapy for individuals ages 4 and older.
Her areas of focus include:
- ADHD
- Anxiety and depression
- Bipolar disorder
- Childhood anxiety and behavioral challenges
- Eating disorders
- Family and relationship conflict
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions
- Stress management
- Substance use recovery
Elizabeth creates a warm, welcoming environment designed to help clients feel comfortable and supported—from soft seating and playful touches for children to a calm space for reflection and growth. In the first session, she takes time to understand each client’s story and unique needs, laying the foundation for a personalized plan for care.
Her approach is rooted in trust and compassion. Elizabeth believes the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful tool for healing—encouraging clients to extend the same kindness to themselves that they experience in her care.
Outside of her practice, Elizabeth enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and caring for her pets and plants. She also serves as Vice President of the Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (GAMFT), recently re-elected through 2028.
