John Winnie, Jr., MD, joined Mercer Medicine in 2025 after more than 30 years leading a private family medicine practice in Folkston, Georgia. Over the years, he has also served as Chief of Medicine at Camden Medical Center and as Medical Director for Charlton County Emergency Services.
He earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. He completed an OB/GYN residency at Case Western University followed by a family practice residency at the Medical Center of Columbus (now Piedmont Columbus Regional). Dr. Winnie is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Winnie provides care through every stage of life, and he works closely with each patient as they work toward better health and overall wellness.
