John Winnie, Jr., MD

A graduate of Mercer University School of Medicine, John Winnie, Jr., MD, joined Mercer Medicine in 2025 after more than 30 years leading a private family medicine practice in Folkston, Georgia. Over the years, Dr. Winnie has also served as Chief of Medicine at Camden Medical Center and as Medical Director for Charlton County Emergency Services. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

As a family physician, Dr. Winnie cares for patients ages five and older and offers a wide range of health services, including:

• Diabetes prevention and treatment
• High blood pressure and cholesterol management
• Weight loss and metabolic health support
• Annual physicals for men, women and children (ages five and older)
• Pre-employment physicals
• Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals
